We are about to enter the realm of non-existent entities.
The entire world will manifest as a mere reflection of emptiness, captured within the insect's retina.
I composed "Reflection of Emptiness" as per Konstantyn Napolov's commission. His volcanic style of playing served as a profound inspiration, guiding my creative thoughts towards something explosive, impetuous, charismatic, and virtuosic. The composition aimed to be a marathon of endurance for the instruments, making them crackle under the pressure of the musician's performance.
As for the title, it might appear to be the direct opposite of the music itself. However, I intended to recreate something that serves as a reflection of the sensation of emptiness as a substance with its density. This was an attempt to unveil the tragic beauty of the material that envelops and consumes us—an essence we are fated to confront throughout our lives. It is in this confrontation that the meaning of our existence unfolds.
